Welcome to this preview of The Approved List—your definitive guide to curating a wardrobe and lifestyle that’s both luxurious and sustainable. From clothing to must-have resources, consider this your go-to for guilt-free indulgence.
As we venture further into our year of iconic style, experimenting outside of the typical seasonal fashion rules is inevitable. In this collection of The Approved List, we’re exploring new ways to embrace color, pattern and hues that exist beyond the classic floral patterns synonymous with spring.
While these 5 looks are meant to inspire your spring styling, of course, we must keep the fabric composition of each piece in mind by using our Fabric Snob Grading Scale. As temperatures rise, it’s imperative that we not only wear garments that make us feel fabulous, but also support our natural bodily responses.
Fabrics such as cotton, hemp and linen, react beneficially to our sweat to keep us cool, while still releasing odor. While synthetic fabrics, such as polyester, hold moisture and oil, resulting in amplified body odors. Our goal this season is to look and smell incredible—choose fabrics that will help you do both.
Now, let’s get into these looks!
The most sustainable thing is to wear what’s in your closet but should you choose to shop anything linked, I may receive a small commission from your purchase. Thank you for support Lilac Reign :)
Look 1:

Ibiza has been on my mind heavily lately, and there will absolutely be an Ibiza edit but this small taste will have to satisfy you for now. In last year’s Ibiza styling, I went more wholesome, “first time on the island” vibes. This year, I’m striving for veteran, girls-trip glamour. This outfit is all about texture and glamour, featuring this coquillage cotton cropped top that mimics the oceanic shells, paired with a embroidered, cotton, fringe skirt that reflects the cultural nightlife of the island. The entire outfit is accented with accessories hued in lavender, pink, and gold to pull on the colors from the skirt.
Look Two:

To a true diva, fashion rules don’t apply, and that’s evident with this look! Plaid is typically regulated for the fall, but this linen skirt pairs perfectly with this linen-blend top that plays beautifully with silhouette, featuring a cinched waisted and exaggerated cuffs. For an unexpected and playful mix of pattern, the outfit is complemented with a python-printed leather wedged sandals, finished off with gold accessories and black classic cat-eye sunnies.
Look Three:
Cue Webbie’s “Independent”, because something about this silhouette just screams “grown woman who has her own.” Texture is an absolute must this spring and summer, and this asymmetric wool top pairs perfectly with these cotton wide-leg pants that allow the top to be the star of the show. Though the top shines, the beaded wedges act as the perfect showstopper that separates the women from the girls, highlighting sophistication and class. To pull on the colors of the top, the fit is complemented by a burnt orange vanity case, gold jewelry, and a pair of scalloped, cat-eye sunnies.
Look Four & 4.5:
In this two-for-one special, the main feature is this pink, ruffled, silk halter-top, patterned in brown polka dots. Silhouette and tonal hues are the theme of this look, as the top is paired with a chocolate pair of barrel jeans, accessorized with baby pink opera gloves for drama, light pink sunnies and earrings, and a fuchsia purse and denim sling bangs to politely break up the “on-the-nose” hues pulled from the top.
While the first option is a cool-toned, glamour girl, this second look is slightly pared-down for a more everyday wear. They’re fraternal twins, not identical. Differing from the older sibling, this look leans more into warmer hues and square accessories, featuring a vintage leather bag, larger sunnies, and a pop of color with the same sling backs in green leather, rather than denim. She loves being a twin while celebrating her individuality.
Look Five:
To round out this collection, we’re leaning into monochromatic patterns, with a viscose body-con dress. No doubt the dress is the main attraction, so the accessories can’t rival it. Yet, somehow, these leather, floral-embellished heels complement the dress perfectly. To keep the accessories minimal, the earrings, bag, watch and arm cuff are silver to allow the dress and shoes to shine, all finished off with red sunnies for that pop of color to complete the look.
The easiest way to ensure you have an iconic style year is by thinking outside of the box and taking risks! I hope this collection of style grids have inspired you to look at your spring styling and wardrobe in a new perspective. Let’s chat below in the comments about which look is your fave and some ways you’re looking to spice up your spring looks this season.
Until next time!
